Well hello...I'm back blogging on here again!

I've been off work this week trying to sort out more of the house. The 2 bedrooms are now fully decorated and the stairs are also done. Bathroom has been finished...so it's just the kitchen and the living room to do! O_________O;

The new kitchen has been delivered (apart from the important bits of course...they didn't have the oven in stock and the fan and hob were both water damaged - so they took them back! >_<; )

That will need installing, the floor and splashbacks tiling etc...*sigh*

Listen to me...I sound so domesticated. To be honest...the house is all we talk about, think about and spend money on at the moment! It will look amazing when it's done though...then we can move in! YAY!!

Right-ho...I'm off to bed because I'm knackered from fridge-freezer shopping...*yawn*

back to hell...

eyes mine
My week off came and went...and I'm now back working in hell.

It's awful...I just can't believe how bad this weeks shifts have been. Today for example, I had 3/4 of an hour left to my shift and a seemingly well lady suddenly crashed and we had a resuscitation on our hands. She'd totally stopped breathing...no pulse. The Sister and me were first to her. The crash team arrived mins later (but it felt like hours) There were 6 doctors, 4 staff nurses (including me) and 2 Sisters. I felt sorry for the other patients in the 6 bed bay. They had been talking to her, then suddenly she just fell on her bed.

Anyway...long story short...we worked on her, shocked her and got her around. When I left she was semi-conscious and extremely disorientated. I was totally knackered from running around the ward, grabbing stuff the doctors needed. I basically fell into the car - thank god Jonathan was picking me up from work...I wouldn't have liked to have driven home.

I've got another shift tomorrow and then I'm off monday and tuesday. *wai!*

On a good note...I've seen both the Harry Potter film and read the 7th book...oh wow...they were both fantastic. The book was so amazing - I was so upset when I'd finished it! I can't believe that is it!!! *sob*

Super good note...we saved a baby hedgehog last night on the way home. Luckily Jonathan saw it in the middle of the road and stopped in time. I chased its snuffley ass all the way back to the grass verge...*squee* It was soooo adorable!!

I've only just got back from my late shift and I'm up at 5.30am for my early shift tomorrow! I might as well have slept in the carpark...save myself some petrol...

My house bunny is acting really affectionately towards my fiance tonight...he's either lonely or turning slightly homosexual...Only I'd have a slightly camp rabbit.

rocking to the Fuzz...

  • Jul. 10th, 2007 at 10:53 PM
oh joy! Wata
Received my Hot Fuzz soundtrack through the post yesterday! *yay*

I had 'Caught By The Fuzz by Supergrass' blasting from my car cd player on my way to work this morning! Rock on! I did get some strange looks as I was driving up to the car park barrier to put my card in the machine though...I think it might have been a wee bit too loud...O_o;

I'm still procrastinating about scanning my remaining cels...oh well...I'll just admire my cute icon instead.

I can't believe I slept in AGAIN! I set 3 alarms on my phone - and woke up for the first 2...obviously slept through the last one. I woke up the same time I normally set off for work! *ARGH!* I couldn't believe it!! I must have been that knackered!

I received a card saying I'd missed a delivery so perhaps my manga books might get delivered tomorrow! *yay!*

I've booked my cinema tickets to go see Harry Potter 5 on the 14th. We are going to a 11.15pm showing where its just 18's and over. I can't wait!

I have an overwhelming urge to watch Hot Fuzz again...hmm...*eyes dvd box*

Doctor Who on Saturday was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I won't spoil it incase you've not seen it yet - but oh how cool it was...lots of Master/Doctor fluffiness *squee* Shame it's finished until xmas...now all I've got to look forward to is Torchwood (not that that's a bad thing ^_^)

Purchased the Spaced complete collection DVD this weekend...I felt as though I needed to watch them again (it had been awhile...) I forgot how fantastic it was! I was laughing so hard! The extra's on the DVD's are great too...still making my way through them.

I'm waiting on the next 3 volumes of Tsubasa Chronicles manga to come through the post...it's taking it's time (hmmm...another email might be in order...)

Anyway, off to bed - another early shift tomorrow...boo!

talk about a mixed bag...

Yesterday's shift was an emotional one to say the least!! The overall shift was great - apart from the really sad event we had. We had a 51 year old lady die with stomach cancer yesterday. It only took 3 weeks from her being diagnosed to deteriorating so dramatically that she died last night. I had to speak to her family and explain to her 17 year old daughter what would happened just before she died...it was awful. I left my late shift at 9.30pm. When I came back to work this morning for my early shift - I was told she'd died at 10.15pm that night - I would have only just got home. That was definitely a low point...

Today's shift was a lot better! I had a patient that has been with us since December go home today! ^_^ We all can't quite believe it! She was so ill...she almost died. Was bed-bound for months...it's so amazing to see her walking and doing everything for herself now. She's only 40! That was a definite high point...

Now...off the depressing talk and onto more pressing matters like Hot Fuzz-coolness! *double-squee* I watched the whole film again with the commentary on (the one with Pegg, Frost, Spall, Colman, Eldon and Broadbent) It was so bloody hilarious! I love hearing them talk absolutely nonsense! You find out some quite cool stuff too. I could watch it over and over...*happy fangirl dance*

Another day...another late shift. I thought I'd throw in a post before I left for work.

Just watched an advert for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie on TV...woooot! It looks sooooooooo good!!! I just can't wait! It's an exciting year for potter fans - what with the 5th film and the *LAST* book coming out!

I've got my book pre-ordered on Amazon to be delivered on the day. I'm way too excited. I'm off that Saturday which is very very good...not that I planned it that way... *looks around nervously*

Another good thing - last of series 3 of Doctor Who is on this Saturday! YAY!! More Master/Doctor action...*swoon* I must say though - I don't reckon much to a old wrinkly Doctor...

I'm back...yay?!

I thought I'd attempt to breathe new life into this puppy seen as it's a pretty lifeless LJ at the moment...

Well, lots has happened since my last LJ entry. Last time, I was talking about my ward closure and about how I was going to be re-deployed. I did get moved - but luckily I got moved to a fabulous ward and I couldn't be any happier!! I love it here (it's a female surgical ward). ^_^

More exciting news, I'm hoping to enrol on a Japanese language course in November!! *squee*

Like the new layout?? It of course features my two fav boys from Hot Fuzz!! ^_~

Work....why do we do again???

  • Mar. 24th, 2006 at 5:36 PM
akatsuki - yaa boo!!
God....work is crap at the moment. Not only have I got 7 shifts to work in a row (done 4 of them!), two days off, then 2 night shifts, but they are saying they might close our ward. I'm absolutely devastated. I love the team I work with...they are wonderful. It's like a massive family. That was the reason why I got a permanent job on there (I wouldn't work permanently on any of the other wards!) Anyway, they are still in talks. No one is gonna be made redundant which is good, but they are gonna put us on other wards and split us up. All the staff are really upset. We had a meeting with the Chief Executive and the Chief of Nurses today on the ward. Most the staff turned up, even on their day off. I just want to cry!

Anyway, on a lighter note...(if there is one) I watched 'The Five Doctors' on DVD! It's great! Loved it! Fivey and Turlough are soooo cute at the beginning, what with all the fainting and stuff!

*gets hyperactive with the thought of fivey/turlough fluff*

It's really interesting seeing how the other Doctors' react to their new regeneration.

That was brilliant!! I loved it! Turlough is as lovely as ever! *squee* Very amusing with David Walliams from 'Little Britain' doing one of the voices (he did the voice in the style of Emily the Transvestite! *lol*). I definitely recommend!!!

I also watched 'Resurrection Of The Daleks' on dvd...wow thats good. Sad when Tegan leaves though - I didn't think I'd be that bothered!

Home at last...

Wow...that was a long shift. Got home just in time to watch 'House'. Work was so quite, very strange for our ward. Yawn! At least I've got 4 days off in a row now...then late shifts and earlys all next week. Woohoo - hear that sarcasm people -_-;
I think I will watch the end of 'Earthshock'. Not that the death of Adric will make me feel any better.........Oh alright, it might help a little! *grins evilly*

Oooooh! Dvd's!!

God i love Amazon.co.uk...especially the Marketplace. I've just purchased Resurrection Of The Daleks and The Caves Of Androzani for £7-8 each off Amazon Marketplace!! *jumps up and down in a slightly deranged manner*

I can't wait!! I've also bought The Five Doctors from the main site!! Yay! *whoops for joy!*

Also a really kind librarian at our local library has lent me the audio Doctor Who - Phantasmagoria on cd!! I don't even know the girl! She said to copy it and bring it back when I like! I'm so lucky!

And i've just joined davison_era community journal! It's all go today!

Oh and I just want to say hello to my first LJ friend (sad I know...*lol*) uktechgirl !!!

I thought it was about time I sorted myself out and create a LJ. I've always been quite naughty when trying to keep a blog (always forgetting to update!) but hopefully I will be a bit more keen with this one! ^_^
